How to create a new Website: Step by step guide

Start making your website

2. Sign up for an account in a Web Hosting company

A web host is a company that has computers that are connected to the internet 24/7. These computers are called servers and they are assigned IP numbers in order that they may be found by other computers connected to the internet. It is on these servers that all your web files are stored.

Once you are signed up with web hosting company your website has a home to place all your web files. It is like you are renting a place to your business. You have to pay a rental for having their space and most of the time you can pay by monthly or annually.

When you type a web address into the address bar of your browser and then hit enter, your browser sends out a request to 'get' that web page. The request travels across the internet to the appropriate web server and attempts to locate the web page on that server. If the request is successful (web page exists) then that web page will load (or download) into your web browser.

Web designing is one of the key elements in a website. Once you have a domain name and web host then you can start design your website. To design your web site either you can hire a professional or you can do it by your self.

If you jump straight in and start creating a web site straight away chances are that the site is going to be badly structured, look unprofessional, and not achieve it's full potential.

When you hire a professional you can expect a high quality professional website. But you have to spend reasonable amount of money for a better website. But if you design it by your self it takes time and does not look more professional. But if you can spend fair amount of time you can upgrade your site to a reasonable looking good site.
